Room 14 Luxury Double…Great spacious room with an amazing sea view… particularly as storm Gerrit was raging outside! White bedding was immaculate and the bed was so comfortable! All of the staff were super helpful & friendly, from the receptionist, the lady at breakfast & the lady who made up the room. This was our first time staying at Number 44 Hotel & Bar but we visit Stonehaven every so often to see friends… we’ll definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel and very attentive staff. They couldn’t do enough for us. We could not fault the food as it was all delicious.The room was very clean and the view was amazing so close to the sea.Only negative was the room was cold as the heating must of been on a timer. The duvet was very thin so cold during the night.The bath needs upgrading and some kind of heating in the bathroom as it was freezing. It was a thought to have a shower.

We were somewhat stranded due to a recent storm and had to find somewhere short notice. The room was cosy and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay considering.b good view from the room. I would definitely recommend it if you are in Stonehaven. The breakfast included had decent optionsand was glad to see a menu with 5-6 options rather than just 1-2.

We had only one night to enjoy this adorable town. The hotel is right on the beach, which is beautiful. Our room didn't have a view, but it was big enough and had all we needed. The decor was nice, everything was clean. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel bar, and the food was excellent! The service was good, and friendly. The one downside of the hotel could be the stairs up to the room, which you need to carry your bags up and down; if you have mobility issues, this may not work for you. Overall we had a wonderful stay, we were only disappointed we couldn't stay longer in this lovely town!

My husband surprised me with a night away in Stonehaven which is great in itself but when I walked into room 14 it was just WOW. The view of the sea was amazing from the full length window. The room was tastefully decorated, clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and all staff were very friendly and informative. Great place to stay. Can't wait for another stay.

No44 is the perfect place to stay. Friendly staff, attentive housemaids always asking if everything is ok with your room or if you need anything further for your room. Brilliant food. Always busy and a great location for getting about. Everything just perfect

A lovely room only spoiled by lack of source of heating which a phone to reception quickly solved , attention to the radiator thermostatic valve woul have avoided the need for a portable heater.The Food in No. 44 was superb ,nothing spectacular but good food well prepared.Thanks for having us , Graham and Anne

My friend and I stayed at 44 for three nights. We had a twin room with sea view which was really nice. We were celebrating our 70th Birthdays so the break was a bit special for us. Hotel was in great location and we could walk along the front every day which was nice. We could also sit in our window and watch the waves which was very relaxing. Hotel staff were all very friendly and looked after us well. Food was very good in their restaurant. All in all a lovely trip and we would definitely return and recommend. Diane K

Loads of wildlife.Room was slightly on the small side but well laid out, clean and had all the essentials.We had a bath and shower in the bathroom.Pub and food was excellent. Just wish they did cocktails. Breakfast was amazing. Well cooked veggie options.Staff were lovelyOne tiny detail - the grout/ silicon in the bathroom was mouldy which can be easily bleached to make bathroom more appealing.

We booked one of the rooms with the full size glass window that slid open. We sat and watched the sea and listened to waves crashing even through rhe night. So relaxing. Best fish and chips i have ever had. Crispy batter and perfect flaked fish. Breakfast good too with lovely service.Staff all friendly and helpful.Bed very comfy.

We were very well looked after from the minute we arrived. Our room was spotless as was the shower room. Very comfortable bed with white bedding. The bar and breakfast staff were friendly and most helpful. Great situation for travelling around the area.

We stayed in Room 14 with excellent views of sea and beach. Room a good size, very comfy bed. We are both dinner and breakfast, both very good and staff helpful and customer focussed as was the reception.

Nice sea view. Comfortable beds. Good food. Centrally sited next to the town square. Half way along the beach front so ideal whichever way you decide to walk. Stonehaven is definitely worth a visit.

Birthday treat for my husband. Booked Room 14 with sea view & it was perfect. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff. Noparking, but opposite there is a fee paying public car park or can find space for free off-street parking.

We were travelling on motorcycles and stayed here, we had also booked dinner. The hotel is lovely, very modern and clean, comfortable bed and great shower. The food was excellent and all staff in particular the lady and young lady that severed us on Saturday were very nice indeed, a great personality and had time to talk to you but efficient at the same time. The bar was very nice at night and also busy.Only about 100 meters from the beach which was also great. The town had a lot more to it than we thought. There is also plently of parking. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We had an amazing time in Stonehaven.Number 44 is lovely hotel and bar, rooms are compact, clean and tastefully furnished.We had room 12, which had amazing views of the beach, stunning to wake up to.The staff in the hotel were amazing, cheerful, friendly and nothing was too much bother for them, even when they were rushed off their feet.They are a credit to this hotel. The food was really good, overall we felt this hotel offered good value for money.

We stayed here last year for Stonehaven folk festival and again this year. The staff are so friendly and welcoming even though the hotel is extremely busy all weekend! Nothing us too much trouble. Food is amazing too! Our room had patio doors that looked straight onto the sea shore! Because the room is on the first floor we could open the patio a little and listen to the waves as we fell asleep. Needless to say we booked for next year before we left!

Stayed on a two night midweek break. Room was comfortable, well equipped but compact - good for the price. Food especially the fish special (and breakfasts) was excellent. And (and maybe because it was midweek), it wasn’t nearly as noisy as we feared. And we do want to return to Stonehaven!

We had a great stay during our weekend away. The room we were in was well furnished, as were the reception area and hallways. We spent several hours with friends in the downstairs bar, and enjoyd the food we were served.Our only minor issue was that the bed in our room was a little small. I am slightly above average height and my feet went off the edge of the bed, which took a while to get to sleep because of. Other than that, we would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stay in Stonehaven.

We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the room with the big bed, with our 2 year old. Can't fault the room itself. The bed was very comfy. The shower was good, although a hair clip had been left, but all otherwise clean. Would stay again.Food: we had dinner and breakfast. We are vegan. The dinner options were good, although some of the things in the description weren't on the plate. The tapas starter was amazing. Don't bother with the crumble sundae - it's cold apple crumble with a scoop of ice cream. At breakfast, it seemed they'd never been asked for a vegan breakfast before. We asked for the vegan bits of the veggie breakfast. It was good, although the potato scone apparently isn't vegan. We had to request toast, and they brought loads with lots of non-dairy butter :)

My stay was nice! Clean rooms, friendly service, and good breakfast. My purpose was business, and for that maybe the breakfast and reception opened a bit late (7AM) but other than that I enjoyed my stay.

Booked to attend a funeral at short notice.Didn't know the hotel beforehand. Found the photos online to be a good representation. The room was very comfortable, excellent view with the ability to open the sliding window and enjoy the warm sunny weather. Tasty filling Scottish breakfast with quick friendly service.

Free parking on the street was easy to find.The Bar/Pub was very nice and served good food and the breakfast was also very good.

Place has been updated.Jamie is awesome.We had supper at the Rwstraunt.Wonderful meal and great service from Alyssa and Katlyn.Would most definitely return.

We had a one night stay in room 14. Highly recommended. Fabulous views over the sea , comfortable bed and without fail all staff members were friendly and welcoming. Would have preferred a walk in shower but that’s a minor grumble. Overall ourroom was clean and well appointed. Breakfast was first class. Cooked fresh and very generous. A few more options would have been nice but again a minor grumble. We really enjoyed our stay.

Received a warm welcome for our one night stay and this level of excellent customer service continued throughout our stay from the restaurant service at dinner and breakfast to the flexibility over checkout time. Our sea view room was well equipped and comfortable and the food options on dinner menu and breakfast were excellent. Free parking on street outside, shops and cafes all around and a lovely coastal walk right behind hotel make this a great hotel when visiting Stonehaven or surrounding area

There was a problem with the room I had booked so the really lovely receptionist organised another room for me which also had a sea view. The view was worth paying the extra for!!The room itself was beautiful although my only warning is that if you have mobility issues you will struggle as the step to get into the bathroom has to be about 20cm.Breakfast was lovely with good quality ingredients and the lady serving the food was again super friendly.Great central location.

Stayed for 3 nights. Location was perfect - across the road from Market Square and the car park. On the other side was the beach. Our room had a magnificent sea view. Although room was small the view more than compensated. All staff were lovely. Food also was good. Only slight criticism was when we came down for a drink on the 3rd night and were told all tables except two couches were reserved. Fortunately we had already eaten elsewhere but had we been coming down for our evening meal - as residents we would not have been happy to hear there was not a table for us. However we were happy to sit on couches for our drinks. All in all a really enjoyable break and Stonehaven is lovely.

Nice room and hotel/ bar. Coupe of issues with Room 12 which we reported. Only Luke warm water from the shower, and the bathroom fan would not switch off at all. I know it was January, but the bathroom could really do with a radiator. Great view from the bedroom and good value. Everyone friendly enough.

Room was small but comfortable. Quiet upstairs. Lively restaraunt and bar downstairs. Breakfast very good with great vegetarian choices.

My husband and I traveled to Stonehaven for the holidays, staying at the Number 44 for nine nights.We were delighted with the staff, room, restaurant, and pub. We could not have picked a better place and the view from the room was amazing! Not only would I recommend the Number 44, but we also hope to return sometime soon.

We had a sea view room, very helpful kindly staff and we enjoyed the time being there. And the breakfast was awesome! Cooked in the kitchen, freshly made. No buffet! I had the stack pancakes with bacon and maple syrup! Delicious.

We found this fabulous hotel almost "by accident" and did not expect such a wonderful place and very helpful and kind PEOPLE. Our first meeting with Michelle was so great. She went far beyond extra mile. Even, in exact meaning of "extra mile" she helped us with our luggage then piloted us to perfect parking spot. Next morning she offered breakfast (extremely tasty) to bring to our room, which she did. Another very helpful person was Zuzanna, helping us, always with smile, with any of our requests. Room, by itself, was very clean, comfortable, but BEDS were beyond any expectations. Almost never we found such comfy beds. Over all we were very happy to stay in your hotel. Should we be sometimes in this area, certainly we will come again. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!!!!

We had a lovely one night stay here. The room was fine with an amazing sea view. We also had our meal there which was really good. Great menu selection. The breakfast was also fantastic, included in the price of the room, there was a huge selection all cooked to order. All the staff were lovely and welcoming. The hotel itself itself is in the centre of town so easy to walk to the lovely sights of Stonehaven.

Excellent value for a very welcoming and comfortable hotel. Friendly and efficient staff and excellent food and drink. Lovely to have breakfast cooked to order. Rooms are well kitted out, although mattresses in our rooms (and our friends') were rather lumpy. Nice to be able to open the window properly and delightful to hear the sea, even if all rooms obviously cannot have a sea view! Overall, an excellent hotel. We are already planning our return. We stayed for Saturday night-we got super service from amazing staff. The bar was really busy, but they were lovely and attentive all night. Food was great also,also breakfast next morning.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a long drive, so after unpacking the car, I enjoyed slumping in to a chair and watching the sea from out the room window. Then we got dinner at the Hotel Bar/Restaurant which was exceptional. The tomato soup was a particular standout but everything was delicious. Same for the breakfast, except it was the avocados on that occasion that separated theirselves as the best I'd ever tasted. The staff were excellent: very friendly and everything we required was catered to. I would highly recommend and will most certainly be returning if I'm in the area again.

The staff make this place amazingly welcoming and homey. Add the fantastic location right in town, with ocean right behind, and I never wanted to leave. Sure, rooms can be small and it's an old building, but they're working on upgrades and it's completely comfortable with great water pressure (important if you have a lot of hair to wash!).Food is great either in breakfast (part buffet, part cooked to order) or the restaurant pub on the main level. Excellent value for money.

Lovely Hotel although rooms are a bit on the small side but perfectly comfortable for one person for a couple of nights! I've stayed on two separate occasions now and much prefer room 6 with the lovely walk in shower! I've eaten in the restaurant and the food was very good! Easy parking either on the street at the front door or across the road in the car park, which is free at night! But what makes it is the staff! They are extremely helpful and can't do enough for you! Would definitely stay there again and recommend to colleagues, friends and family alike!

We have stayed here before & we’re always coming back. Lovely people working there & it might seem silly but I like that it was cushelle toilet roll. The simple things. Only problem we had was the size of the bath/bathroom. I am 5’6” but was unable to lie in the bath as it was really small. When we come back can I request a different room? I booked & paid extra for a room with a view the 1st time but had to move as we couldn’t watch the tv as it was in an alcove bit. This was changed with the minimum of fuss. Thank you & we will be back sometime

The staff was very nice and friendly, our room had a lovely view to the sea. The rooms had good offers with coffee, bisquits, hairdryer and so on. Nice bed.The bathroom was extreamly cold, and we didn’t find out how to get it warmer.

Booked and checked in online. Convenient location, with a handy car park across the road.The room was small, but clean and comfortable and good value for money.Staff were friendly. The breakfast room was pleasant and the cooked breakfast was good quality, but there was a shortage of basic items like fruit juice, cornflakes, coffee etc, possibly due to a shortage of staff to help the sole waitress who was doing her best.

The room was clean and bed comfy. The staff where super helpful. Breakfast was great. We had evening meal in the bar which was great and staff there went above and beyond.

Wow this place was so good it's a shame we were only in the area for one night!Fantastic room with a sea view, made even better when waking up to watch the sunrise. Dinner was great especially the cullen skink. Lovely bar showing sports too. Service in the restaurant and bar was brilliant!Breakfast the next morning was a great selection of meats cheese pastries cereal PLUS choice of hot breakfast like smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or a full Scottish breakfast!Would love to come back, thanks very much

We had a great 2 night stay at No44 , Rooms we’re spotless and really well presented , nice breakfast although cold buffet was a little limited on 2nd day , probably more our timing , but the best bit was Michelle and her staff , who made you really welcome and provided you with anything you needed

Previous good reviews prompted us to book. We were not disappointed! Had asked for coast facing room and the views were amazing.The room was very clean and had tea/coffee making facilities; bed was clean and very comfortableThe staff were professional and friendly. The breakfast was superb. We had dinner there and the food was beautifully cooked.Great value for money. Highly recommended!!

I loved this hotel so much I have booked for my birthday, it’s everything I wanted, rugged enchanting scenery, no commercial tacky stuff, all the staff were amazing (especially Gill), & also not mentioned, there’s a gym next door, paddle boarding, wild swimming at end of harbour, 20mins on train to Aberdeen, lovely little coffee & cake places, & of course the castle, I had room with view,& could see the sea from my bed, fabulous to wake up to 🤩

Our stay at Number 44 was very appreciated by us mainly due to the staff who are helpful and service minded. The premises are clean and well maintained, but people always make all the difference when staying at hotels.When we mentioned that we came over to Scotland for hiking they gave us a few tips of areas we had missed and were just generally very pleasant people.I recommend.

Absolutely beautiful room, amazing view. Could not fault anything. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Already booked a long weekend later in the year.

We arrived later in the evening and were dealt with quickly and with a friendly manner. Room was ideal and breakfast was excellent too, again with friendly service. My only comment was the bedding had a slight smell of cigarette smoke which was a little off putting.

Stonehaven was a lovely destination on our trip North. The hotel was a good location near the square and beach. The room was ideal. Pleasant. The hotel also had a lively bar (but wasn't too lively when we were in) with good food.

Stayed at 44 Bar + Restaurant for a couple of days in Room 14 overlooking the beach , what a beautiful room . The staff were all great , they couldn’t do enough for us , breakfast was amazing , we will definitely be back 😀

A great hotel right in the middle of town. Vast difference between rooms so book wisely. Housekeeping team were excellent, the house was immaculate, just a bit tired in some places. Great breakfast. Good value for money

Stayed in room 14 for 2 nights. Fantastic sea view with 2 comfortable chairs in front of the huge window,perfect for relaxing. Bed was huge and super comfortable. Dinner was tasty, generous and perfectly cooked. Cooked breakfast was also very generous and speedily delivered by friendly staff. Michelle, the owner, is lovely and obviously genuinely wants her guests to have an enjoyable experience. Overall a lovely stay and would not hesitate to return or recommend.

A nice and comfort stay with a small problema: the temperature in the room was too high, so we were forced to open the window and some mosquitos came in. Despite of that a good experience, beds were comfortable and breakfast was rich and tasty

Everything about our stay was perfect ,would have liked an upgrade to a double room but all were booked ,we had a twin room which was perfect for our 3 day stay.

We stayed just one night. The room has been renovated, nice modern bathroom. Beds were okay, and the view on the beach was beautiful. I only missed some place where we could hang our towels, but maybe that part wasn’t finished yet. Breakfast was good.

Stonehaven was a great place, and the hotel was cleen an tide. We’ve got a room where the saguls was very active outside and the fan from the kitchen was «doing it’s job» The food was good, both the dinner and breakfast.

We stayed at Number 44 with our 10mth old baby. The staff were extremely helpful, accomodating and friendly. They brought the playpen/crib to the room and set it up. They even provided a high chair for the room. I loved this location as it was right by the boardwalk and great restaurants. Mins away from the walk/hike route to the castle and to the open air/outdoor heated pool. I would definetely stay here again.

Stayed in Stonehaven many times but this was the first time at No.44. All of the staff were extremely friendly & helpful so we immediately felt welcomed. Really couldn’t do enough for you.The room was smallish but the view from the Juliette balcony was amazing, looking into the shore & harbour. The bed was comfortable & can’t fault the hygiene, everything was immaculate. Good water pressure in the shower! The only thing I’d have liked would have been a mirror in the room & perhaps locating the TV to another wall? These were minor points. Breakfast was lovely, nice fresh fruit, choice of breads etc. Maybe some fruit & fibre or granola next time!Good cooked breakfast, plenty of choices! Would return!

Thank we had the best room - number 14 - it was beautiful with an amazing view.Staff were lovely, helpful and canny to talk to.Food was excellent at breakfast and evening meal.Definitely recommend!Only slight observation- there is a notice in the bathroom about towels; leave them in the bath if you want them changed, otherwise they will be left. I did not leave mine in the bath but we still had them replaced 😕. Unnecessary laundry which is exactly what the hotel is trying to solve!

Hi we were in room 11 but there was a smell we went down to the reception and they changed us to room 7 which we were delighted with.The only problem with the room no mirror only one in the bathroom which is not very good for putting on makeup or drying your hair.The breakfast was excellent and the staff were all great so helpful.

Was booked in for a 4 nights at Number 44. The receptionist on arrival was very pleasant & helpful. The room (Number 5) was quite small but perfect for me as I was travelling alone. It was very clean and the bathroom was spotless. The bed was very comfortable too. There wasn’t much of view from number 5 but that wasn’t an issue for me.I only ate once in the Bar/restaurant but wish I had eaten there more. The food was great and well priced. Staff were very friendly and helpful & they pulled a great pint of Guinness. If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely be back. Great little place.

Nice hotel, friendly and accommodating staff particularly the lady who served us breakfast from Tuesday to Friday.It was unfortunate that it was her day off on Saturday when we were checking out as we would have liked to thank her personally. Bedding and towels not changed often enough and no guidance on requesting that changes were required.Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Our room was small but fine for just a couple of nights. Comfy with all the we required. Quiet enough too considering there were events on in the function suite. Staff made a point of keeping the corridor doors closed which was appreciated.All staff were lovely, very welcoming and helpful.Breakfast was very good. One of ours was the vegetarian. Great to have that on the menu without needing to ask, with good selection of items.Location was great, a minutes walk to the seashore. Handy for shops.

A very comfortable two night stay. The bed was very comfortable, friendly staff and good food. Parking across the road in the town car park, free after 5pm. If you buy a £1 ticket after 5pm it will inable you to have breakfast without rushing out to put money in the meter at 8am.

Loved the view and the room. Very comfortable over all. Window balcony could have been cleaned of bird poo.Good meal in the restaurant.

Last minute, late booking, bar was still open. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel decor is excellent, a mix of old brick with new marble tops, lovely wallpaper.Room was very clean with plenty of biscuits and toiletries.

Once again a great few days in your hotel,well looked after by your friendly staff.and food lovely. My only issue this time was the mattresses were very hard which upset the sleep and gave us aches and pains. But I’m sure we will be back again soon.

We had a nice stay at Number 44.Room was clean, and bed comfortable. Breakfast in morning was good.Only observations we'd like to highlight (not a complaint) are the fact there was nowhere to hang towels and there was no toilet roll holder).

Have stayed in this hotel before so decided to book again for 5 days .Room was lovely and loved the view of the seabut felt a towel rail in the bathroom would be good as no where to put wet towels staff friendly meals very nice what more can i say about this hotel very nice and no doubt be back at some point as hotel very central

Stayed at No 44 for two nights, I wish it could have been more!The room was clean and tidy and ready for us on our arrival. We ate in the hotels restaurant and could not fault the food or service and,the prices were reasonable too ! And ,i can definitely recommend the breakfast,it was one of the better ones I've had,it was served from 0800 to 1100,so no getting up too early!The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Room very nice but pillows were hard and uncomfortable however we do like a feather pillow at home.

The hotel staff seemed to go out of their way to accommodate me, I am very grateful for their kindness and consideration!

Room was lovely sea view. Discovered our base on bed was broken when we went to bed at 11.10. Reception was not manned so did not know who to contact. Awful nights sleep . Reported in morning when we went down for breakfast to bar staff . Reception not manned till 9am just got an apology

Booking was easy and quick. It is a busy hotel at weekends but did notice any noise, staff very friendly and helpful, brekkie great, we chose a small double as we were only laying our heads in the room.It is a small double with a small double bed, so you do get what you paid for; not a complaint just an observation. Would I stay again, certainly.

Good points...Great staff. Lovely food. Fluffy large towels.Room for improvement....mattresses too hard and I booked a double room but 2 single beds pushed together so not a double as can't snuggle due to gap. Disappointing as was a birthday weekend.Overall good value for money and very clean.

For my partner's 75th birthday we stayed at No. 44 for the weekend.We were upgraded to room 14 which was super.Our window looked right over the bay, it was a large room which was lovely and warm on our arrival and the facilities were fine.The bed was extremely comfortable.We ate in the bar on Friday night and enjoyed our meal very much.Breakfast was great.The staff we came across were friendly and courteous and very helpful.Would stay there again.

Was up for a football match at Cove Rangers. This hotel is a great base for a weekend stay. Lovely spotless room with a view of the beach. Tea and Coffees topped up daily. Very friendly staff and great breakfast. We would highly recommend.

We have stayed at the 44 on a few occasions now and been happy each time. Rooms are small but comfortable and always clean and the heating system is very good- my partner usually complains about cold hotel rooms.Breakfast is varied and plentiful. Staff we met were all pleasant and helpful but have to mention Val who served us at breakfast- she was lovely and very organised.The 44 isnot fancy but more than serves the purpose for a visit to lovely Stonehaven.

We really enjoyed our stay at bar 44, the room was clean the staff were lovely the service we received was excellent there was a great choice for breakfast, we also had a evening meal which was excellent I would definitely stay at this hotel again

The hotel was lovely. Staff very helpful and friendlyDinner was really nice and again staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely in the morning.The only thing we had a slight issue with was our son and daughter in law room wasn’t cleaned properly (again staff sorted it immediately though) and our room only had one set of towels for showering.

Booking started off as single occupancy, changed to double, but room was adequately big enough to accommodate two.The room was pleasantly refurbished with good facilities and was very comfortable.Breakfast was very good, as was the meal we had in the bar on the evening we arrived.

We had a great stay in Stonehaven at the Number 44 Hotel! Possibly the most outstanding thing is the staff. They were all incredibly hospitable and helpful. Very good people! Also, the view and location is amazing.

We had the most wonderful stay here. When I called to book, our requests were listened to (we had some requirements on room types due to different needs within our party) and we were given the loveliest rooms which had everything we asked for. We had some queries when we arrived which were dealt with in a timely and friendly way. The breakfast was absolutely delicious on both days with lots of choice available. Room 14 has the most incredible sea view and we will most certainly be back!! Thank you so much again for a fabulous stay!

Not sure if it was paired back due to out of season but this is a very good bar and restaurant with very nice rooms.there is a desk for reception but all activities seem to coordinated from the bar.Service is superb, cleaning standards very high (which is wonderful in these trying times) this is from cleaning tables in the bars straight through to servicing of the rooms. Rooms are very modern and comfortable (we hade three different rooms within the group)Due to family commitments we only had breakfast there over the two days but the food was very good.We have family near by so will make this first choice when we visit the area.

From the front No44 looks like an average pub, but our room overlooking the sea was a wonderful surprise, Tastefully decorated and comfy, the bathroom could benefit from a couple of hooks and a towel rail, byt the shower was excellent. Pancake stacks for breakfast, yummy! Staff friendly and efficient and parking easy.

Room 6. 1 night. Lovely place. Parking across the road at council parking. However they say you can park on road for as long as you want??. (Had restrictions and never explained this till later) room Had a view of flat roofs and houses. Heating no fan. Nice shower but dirty bathroom. Old soap down side of basin along with hair. And the cupboard had never been open and cleaned. Wifi good. Location in centre of town. Evening meal very nice. Breakfast food very nice. Would definitely stay again

We booked two rooms andwas advised that they were cosy superior doubles and room number 3 was indeed that but room number 9 was a great disappointment firstly it’s really only suitable for a single person as it’s very small and the double bed was up against the wall so you have to clamber over each other to get into bed, the window was only what I’d call a bathroom window you couldn’t see out even though the view would have been a wall it would have been better to be able to see outside. The decor was very nice andthe whole hotel was very clean.

This was our second stay at Number44 and it was lovely again.Room was clean, comfortable and had a fabulous view.All the staff were polite, friendly and very accommodating, especially the young lady in the dining room at breakfast.Not quite as much choice for breakfast as the previous stay pre-covid but the food we did have was lovely.Would like the possibility of some lighter options such as porridge or yogurt/fruit/granola but that is just a personal choice as boxed cereals were on offer.Only other recommendations would be the consideration of a mirror above the dressing table in room 18 for when putting on make up as had to use one of the chairs as a table and was worried about getting make up on the fabric of the chair.Full length mirror in room is good though.Looking forward to our next stay.

Staying for one night getaway.Great location, seaview, good pillows and duvet, good towels, good breakfast, friendly staff.Room was small, room decor was dated, shower has decent power but cubicle was the smallest I've ever used - no good for anything more than a quick body wash. Room was warm but window opened fully for ventilation. Breakfast room was very warm.Would return if any of the rooms had a larger shower cubicle.

We stayed for 2 nights at Number 44. We were given a free upgrade to room 14. 'The best room in the hotel'. This was certainly true. The view was spectacular, overlooking the beach. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We liked the option of having hot filled rolls instead of the full breakfast. We also had an evening meal, and this too was first class.

If in the area we would definitely return.We were in one of the first rooms from going up the stairs and didn't hear any noise from down stairs.Breakfast was excellent and served in a room full of character.We had the window open all night and there were no noises to wake us, we even had a partial sea view.Bed and pillows comfortable, bathroom looked to be new and was modern, the room was on the small side but perfectly adequate

What a great find is Number 44 Hotel and Bar. From the moment of arriving the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and functional. You are set right in the heart of Stonehaven with sea views from the rooms and a short walk to the sea. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and the staff made it a great start to the day. All this and at an exceptional price. Highly recommend!

Brilliant room, great food, friendly and helpful staff

Room was clean and comfortable with a nice sea view (Room 18). Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the whole day. Food in the evening was just as good. Only downside was the noise insulation between the rooms. Rooms 17 and 19 were noisy with drunk men and loud music which went on for hours despite being asked to stop by both residents and staff. Not the hotels fault but it did spoil a good night's sleep

Our overall stay was lovely from beginning to end. The room was perfect, clean, lovely view & the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed our stay at this ultra friendly hotel, the lady in charge was so helpful and kind and couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable. The room was comfortable with a lovely sea view. The only thing I would change is the bed which was a little too firm for our liking. The white sheets and towels were beautiful. We ate and the restaurant in the evening which did not disappoint, and the breakfast was excellent with attentive friendly staff. Will certainly revisit, thank you!

Food very good and well presented all served in main area though a bit noisy as main bar was well used. Wish dinners were served in upstairs dining room where breakfast was served.Staff very attentive and rooms well appointed. Seagulls very noisy and messy on everything,so be prepared for them not fussy where their droppings go !!!

We stayed at Hotel 44 for 4 nights & it was wonderful. Couldn't fault it at all. The staff were all so friendly, helpful & accommodating. Every piece of food we had was just amazing, big choice for breakfast & was delicious, started the day the right way, main meals in the restaurant again delicious would recommend the fish WOW just amazing & a huge portion. We were happy with the accommodation. The larger suite that we were moved to was very nice and had a great view of Stonehaven beach. We understand that the facilities closing was a preventative measure to keep staff and customers safe.

Amazing staff, could not do enough for us, our every request was accommodated. The extended breakfast time was great for us and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast served. The fantastic sea view captivated us from the floor to ceiling window in our room. We also really appreciated the tip to park up in Inverbervie on our way home and walk to Gourdon and back where we enjoyed a lovely lunch by the harbour. Can’t wait to stay again, would heartily recommend as a great spot to enjoy the lovely Stonehaven and all it has to offer.

Our room was fine. We just stayed one night. It was clean and comfortable. We had a sea view which was lovely.The bar/restaurant area was good, great atmosphere and food was lovely. Staff friendly and helpful although they were very busy.

The room was OK but we didn`t have an evening meal because the last meal orders were8-45pm which we missed. We went to the Harbour restaurant which said on the door open 1030am to 1030pm. We got there at 9-00pm and it was closing up?Breakfast at the Hotel was fine although we only have cereals and toast by choice.

All I needed for one night; bathroom tiny but adequate. Bed comfortable but pillows a little hard for me. Nice bar. Hotel centrally located. Easy walk to everything including harbour, beach, and bus stop. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend for short stay.

We had a great evening in Hotel 44 Stonehaven .The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The location was amazing right on the beach and only a 2 mile walk over the cliffs to Dunnator castle. The rooms were modern ,comfortable and spotless.Breakfast was well cooked and good quality. Overall great value for money would definitely recommend a stay

I love staying in the number 44 hotel i stay 3 times a year and every time the service has been top glass room is beautiful with amazing sea views with wide french doors that open right up so you can enjoy the view even . I proposed to my girlfriend on our last visit and the stall went above and beyond helping me organise everything to make the day a big surpriseThank you to all the staff again see you in September

I had a wonderful week-end at Number 44. The staff is amazing, very helpful and friendly. Upgraded to a beautiful room with a full length window overlooking the sea, stunning! Very quiet and peaceful. Five stars for everything!

We stayed in a double room and I had requested a bath. The room was clean and tidy and had recently just been done up, it was lovely. If I’m being picky there was no hairdryer in the room and no mirror other than the bathroom but when I asked the staff got a hairdryer right up to the room.I had booked a table for dinner and was not disappointed, the food was fantastic and the staff were friendly and great service considering the bar and restaurant were very busy.The hotel was in a great location to get out and about in Stonehaven too.We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very well situated close to the beach and all the amenities. The room wasn't very big but comfortable and cozy.The bed was very comfortable aswell. The staff are very attentive and welcoming, they let us check in early and treat us to a cappuccino while we waited 10 minutes for the room to be ready. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant and both were really good. We are very pleased with our choice and we'll be back in the future.

Stayed in room 14 deluxe double and it was lovely. It had been a very long day and to come back sit it front of the full length windows and watch/listen to the sea was amazing. Room looked like it had been recently decorated and again really nicely done. Huge bed and huge tv (which we didn't really watch as the view is so nice). Bathroom very spacious although beware of the steps and the tiles were quite cold on your feet. Nice hot shower.Couldn't use the restaurant or bar in the evening due to covid restrictions (lots of takeaways around town) but breakfast next morning was lovely. Would I stay here again, most definitely a perfect destress after a long day

First impressions weren't very good as we entered through the bar and there only seemed to be one person so we had to wait 5 minutes while she served bar customers.After checking in though we were really happy with everything.Our room though a little small had enough room for our luggage off the bikes and it was clean and warm with a view of the sea between roof tops.Breakfast was spot on and really tastey and sets you up for the day.Food downstairs was great with friendly helpful staff and plenty of choices for both food and drink

On arrival We were transferred to a room with a view of the beach and it was spectacular and the waves rolling in gave us a good nights sleep. The food was excellent and the service as well, both the breakfast room and the restaurant. It was nice to walk around Stonehaven and along the boardwalks and all in all a very relaxing stay. Only downside was that we had bought tickets online for Dunnottar castleand on the day the weather closed it down but we will go back on a warmer season and also go back to the hotel.????????????????????

From the minute we arrived for a 2 night stay up until we left we found the Staff and quality of service we received very high which is a compliment to the management for a very well run hotel. Staff,food, accommodation and comfort was absolutely brill. We tried to book up for an additional night but it was fully booked. We’ll definitely will be back. Well done Hotel no 44 for being an excellent show hotel for Stonehaven. ????

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good to see clear COVID-19 measures in place. Decor seems to be quite new and done in good taste. Good breakfast was included. We didn’t use the bar/restaurant but it seemed to have quite a nice atmosphere and reasonable range general pub grub menu. Whilst the front entrance is right on a busy street, the back is near the water so close if you want to go for a walk along the waterfront or to the harbour area.We did find the room we were in, to be quite small and stuffy (even thought we booked a standard double), same with the bathroom and shower cubicle (we’re not tiny people but we’re not huge either) so we would not have found it comfortable for more than one night. Mattress felt a bit lumpy as if needing to be replaced soon.Worth noting the hotel doesn’t have its own car park so you’ll need to park in the village square car park where luckily for us, the pay-and-display has been suspended at the moment.On the morning of our departure they must have had a staff shortage, so had only one poor girl on, running around like mad trying to do everything. Which means breakfast was served in the bar, not the restaurant as we were told so we hung around for ages waiting upstairs till eventually another guest who walked past, told us and we saw the same happening with quite a few other guests - a simple note on the restaurant door could have solved this. That said, she provided friendly service despite being on her own so we had a lovely breakfast.Will be a good option if you are staying one night en route to somewhere else.

Have just returned from a frankly marvellous few days at No44 hotel in Stonehaven. My wife and I have not been away for a break since lockdown in March. We were apprehensive of course but need not have worried as all Covid requirements in place with an abundance of sanitisers throughout the property. Room was modern and very clean and apart from a super king size bed we had a sea view ( bonus). Food in hotel was outstanding both at night and breakfast. Staff friendly and TBH we had no complaints whatsoever. Would 100% recommend and we will be back XX

we travelled to stonehaven for a family funeral and choose the number 44 as it was very central. on arrival we were met by Kyle who was very friendly and chatty he booked us in and advised us he was upgrading us to a better room with a view were given what we considered the best room in the hotel as it had the most amazing view over the beach and the North Sea this made our stay that bit more enjoyable also breakfast was exceptionally good and all the rest of thd staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome we would highly recommend the number 44 to anyone we are going back later in the year for a few stays and take in some sights 10 out of 10 for excellence

The hotel is great place to stay as it couldn't be more central. The rooms were spacious and well furnished and clean and fresh. The beds were comfortable always a plus. Great breakfast in the morning makes for a good start to the day.Definitely would use again.

Think we got the room with the best views in the whole hotel, staff nervous after being in lockdown as were we for so long but soon felt comfortable.Sofa bed very uncomfortable.

On arrival reception was welcoming and helpful. Bit confused about the tempreture check, seemed pointless. On first impression the room was terrific with floor to ceiling glass. On closer inspection the room was a bit faded with wallpaper coming unstuck and paintwork being chipped and faded. Lunch on arrival was very nice and breakfast was excellent. Slight issue with parking as covid precautions were in place. However parking was free in square (if you could find a space). Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Have just spent 2 lovely days in your hotel.My 89 year old father, sister and myself used to spend our childhood family holidays up in Stonehaven and we decided to spend 2 nights bed and breakfast to recount old memories.Hotel was a great location in the centre of the town.Our first person to greet us was Lindsay who was excellent with showing us our rooms, booking us restaurant, generally looking after us so well.Breakfast was fab with a good choice and again Val our waitress was excellent and very friendly.Food in the actual restaurant was delicious and again the service was excellent.The hotel have done very well to protect both their staff and guests in these strange times and I wouldn’t hesitate to revisit.

This Hotel has a great location in Stonehaven. Easy for parking and easy access to the water front. The Hotel and Bar has set up everything so that you feel very safe in these strange times.

Room ok. Clean, Beds fine, well made up.But:- Shower in room (1)7 took an eternity to get warm- The servers of breakfast presented Saturday, Sunday and Monday different selections for breakfast for "residents".- The breakfasts themselves (OK,good) were presented completely different.

Upgrade works were ongoing, and the bedrooms overlooking the sea were somewhat "tired", but never the less good, clean and good value.Staff were without exception very friendly, open and chatty without being overbearing.To be commended.

We arrived at the hotel which was very clean, the staff where exceptionally friendly and the checking in process was quick and easy. The room size was about adequate for our stay. We were given one of the sea side views which saw us looking out onto the beach. We were presented with complimentary tea and coffee with a kettle that was stocked each day. The bathroom was clean and quite large with both options of a bath of shower. The only negative about the room was the temperature of the shower could have been hotter. The water was warm/hot however we like a good hot shower. The water pressure was good though. The restaurant food was delicious and quite large meals. Only downside was the mint choc cheesecake was more chocolate and less mint. We chose to have the full Scottish breakfast which was fantastic - plenty of food and they offered substitutions. Overall the experience was exceptional and we would highly recommend the hotel for short or long stays.

We stayed in a seaview room for 2 nights and we couldn't have asked for anything more or better. Waking in the morning to see dolphins jumping was absolutely amazing.Great hotel would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Stonehaven is a nice town.We visited for thenew Years Eve fireballs which were spectacular.Good hotel in a good location. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Food was was also good, excellent fish and chips!! Our room was okay but would benefit from a little TLC.

My stay at Number 44 Hotel & Bar was good.Although my room was on the smaller side, it was warm, very clean and had everything expected.The water was always hot and the shower very good.Food in the restaurant (I had dinner and breakfast) was good and plentiful.I didn't spend much time in the bar as there is limited seating and I got some odd glances from other guests/locals when they realised I was alone.The hotel is well placed for parking and central to all shops, leisure centre, promenade and beach.In particular, staff were very attentive and service was excellent.

through in Stonehaven for a 80th birthday get together so decided to stay the night at number 44 the room its self was spacious, clean and a lovely big bed had a good nights sleep breakfast was fine but only one serving, coffee was cold so asked for hot waterbreakfast its self was fine. would stay again the only downfall I saw was that they could do with replacing the stair carpet lets the place down looks tired

We were staying at Number44 Hotel for 2 nights in July.It was perfect. We got the wished seaview room. the staff was perfectly helpful with that. And the room was absolutly perfect. Clean, big windows to see the sea. In the restaurant good dinner and drinks. Thanks a lot

The b&b was very very good, the stuff very kind and the Breakfast very good. The dinner is also good. Our room was clean and large with a modern bathroom. The Hotel is near the Beach and the Harbour, to the dunnottarcastle you Walk 20 minutes.

Stayed here for one night on the way back from a trip to the Highlands. Room was recently decorated and very nice. Super shower and comfy bed. We ate dinner in the bar below the hotel, the food was very good. Stonehaven is a nice wee place, an evening stroll round to the harbour after dinner was a nice way to finish up the evening.

We were two people and booked the rooms with seaview and this was totally worth it!Had a fantastic undisturbed view onto the ocean and the surrounding area and got woken up by the sunrise in the morning. What else can you as for?Room was not all too big if you would be staying with two people, but for one it was awesome!Great bar downstairs as well and the breakfast was great!Very well located in the heart of the town within walking distance to the harbour.Will definitely go back again if in the area.

I routinely use No.44 when visiting Stonehaven for work due to the convenience of being in the town centre and the comfort and service I receive. The restaurant is excellent for quality and service and the accommodation all you’ll ever need.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Stonehaven.Great central location next to the beach and easy access to all the walks around Dunnattor.Breakfast in the morning was excellent - full Scottish.The restaurant was busy in the evenings but we managed to taste some of the new menu and were very happy with the result.Overall, a pleasant experience.

The hotel is located Central in Stonehaven, and the rooms have a good standard. Easy check in, and helpfull staff. The bar at the hotel lacks a bit of charm for me, and the Lightning is Bright an not verry cozy. But the rest was Perfect.Best regardsE

I got an upgrade to a room with a sea view. The staff were nice but the food was continually over cooked and I complained at the time. I reported my concerns and they offered me a free meal on my next visit. The hotel is central for me reasonably priced and I will use it again

We booked two rooms at Number 44 and, for the price we paid, were value for money. n the evening we had a meal in the bar, however we waited an eternity for each course to be served. To be fair, the staff were very apologetic and a reasonable discount was taken from our bill.

Clean,near Dunnottar castle.The breakfast was really good, a cold buffet and in addition a cooked breakfast.We arrived at the hotel after 8pm and we had dinner at the pub in the hotel. We had a burger and a pint for 10 pounds, good value for money. The staff is really nice.

Connie and Kyke were wonderful, food plentiful, and the bar was top notch. I particularly liked the location near the beach walk. Reason for not a 5 is that the sound carries, so Number 44 is not as quiet as some, but overall a very pleasant stay.

The people were lovely and accommodating. I did have a problem with a bed that was wet ( urine) they gave us another room and said they had not charged us but when I got home the charged us twice

Good foom with great view of the ocean,but no extra bed for our daughter. Not even an inflatable mattress,don't know why.An ok breakfast,had to ask the waitress to refill just about everything since it was empty, perhaps she was new..

Good well located hotel. Little but comfortable room, and scottish breakfast, for a good price. The only bad point was the thickness of the walls: we were disturbed in the morning by people leaving early in the corridor next to our room.

Number 44 is a family friendly rustic place, the staff is very helpful and kind. The hotel room was being kept spick and span all the time, hot water, clean and modernized showers, good breakfast, clean toilet, a nice little kettle with teabags and coffebags in the hotel room, clean and pleasant carpets,pretty wallper, well-closing windows, all well groomed and above all a safe place. Thanks a lot, we had a great time and couldn't have wished for more!

We stayed at Number 44 hotel for just the one night.It was my boyfriends 21st which i previously mentioned when booking and we were surprised with a bottle of prossecco in the room along side a birthday card which was a nice touch.The staff were all really nice and helpful.The room itself was pretty basic but the bed was comfy and the room was cleab overall.However the bathroom was rather small with a terrible shower that didn't stay upright so you had to physically hold it in place when showering.The hot selection at breakfast was great with many different options however the continental breakfast did let it down slightly.Other than that we had a great time and thought it was a lovely hotel.

I was catching up with old friends and booked for us to stay at number 44. The room was pleasant with great view to the sea. The bed was comfortable pillows not so good but I did sleep well. It has en suite although the shower was a tight squeeze for £40 each a night £80 a room per night was reasonable. The breakfast was better on the last day of our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The decor has been updated except the entrance to the hotel let's it down peeling wallpaper and dirty looking. I would stay here again.

Not too expensive either.Only criticism is the staff have to go downstairs to the kitchen to collect the meals!Time to bring back " Dumb Waiter ". I was exhausted watching them!

Good value for money. Well situated. Breakfast was a bit disorganised.

First impressions as we walked up to the roomwere not good. The hallway looked run down and dingy. This was completely opposite to the first impression made by Marcus the duty manager - very welcoming and easy to talk to.We loved the staff - I don't think we met anyone that worked there that was over the age of 30. It was great to be looked after by such a young team who seemed to be motivated, communicative and pleased to look after everyone well. Whoever employs them should be proud. Breakfasts were great and we ate in the bar on first night there and no complaints. When we checked out Marcus explained that the sea view rooms, we were in one of these, were undergoing maintenance and upgrade so I would say that this is a hotel to watch, especially if they retain their motivated staff.

Number 44 is in a great location, righton the main St. but also backing on to the path along the beach.(not all the rooms have a sea view). Our room was a small double, and yes it was small but it was fine for the three nights we stayed. Breakfast was perfect to set you up for the day ahead. The staff are friendly and helpful. Marcus greeted us on arrival and was chatty and interested. Our stay was over the Hogmonay holiday and there was no disruption to service during this time. My only criticism would be the duvet could have done with being thicker. We were in Scotland in December! Possibly if we’d asked we would have got this changed but we didn’t ask. (our call!)We would definitely stay here again!

Booked in for the new year fireballing and was happy with the accommodation, beds a little tired and lumpy, shower struggled to drain away (even after mentioning it) but overall location and cleanliness good. Car parking was 'on-street' but plentiful even over the festivities. No real ale in bar but plenty elsewhere in town. Breakfasts were good and plentiful, we had one evening meal which was good too.

I stayed here on a Wednesday night , I spent a lot of my childhood living up the street at 88 and found the Hotel really central clean friendly and good value. It was great to wake up to the brilliant sea view. I will definately stay here the next time I go to Stoney .

Great location and staff, first time in Scotland for quite a few years and was made to feel at home, awesome Scottish breakfast and evening specials menu, bar stays open late and everything you need is on the doorstep, didn’t get chance to see the local walks, views or any historic buildings as was working.

My daughter (25) and i (none of the above fitted that description) had a most enjoyable stay, whilst up for a family wedding close by, stay were smartly dressed and attentive. The room was freah and clean. The only down side was lack of plug sockets, awkward mirror, two of us trying to do hair make up etc. Breakfast was excellent with gluten free option for me, this still can prove a problem in some places. We came to see the North sea. In our room we had a amazing view of it.We stayed one night and we ate in the hotel restaurant. It was tasty. The breakfast was excellent.

I have stayed with a friend (both in out mid-twenties) for only one night because we were traveling through Scotland. We wanted to visit Dunnotar Castle and needed a place to sleep. The room was really comfortable, clean and there were all the essentials you need. Especially the breakfast was really good and our first "scottish breakfast" on the tour - it stayed the best ;)

We stayed for a night. The room was really good: clean, tidy and with great views over the sea. The waves sound just next to you is very relaxing. And what about waking up with that great views? Amazing! The breakfast was delicious and the attention was kind too. 100% recommendable.

Iv stayed in this fantastic hotel on many occasions over the last 7-8 years and not once have I had a bad experience. Rooms are cleaned to a high standard, and are lovely decorated. The meals are freshly prepared to order and with first class staff. Breakfast is made with locally produced food. Thanks to the excellent and friendly staff I will definitely be back for more years to come.

Our stay was nice also for the meals!It's easy to find a free parking plase along the street. The hotel it's also near Dunnottar Castle that you can reach in 40 minutes walking... Good!

We spent a couple of days at Stonehaven. The hotel provided a very pleasant base for our exploration of Stonehaven & a visit to Aberdeen.

We arrived just before check-in and were met by a friendly member of staff who made us feel instantly welcome. The rooms were clean and had the usual tea/coffee facilities. Great shower, plenty of towels and comfy beds. The full cooked Scottish breakfast was included in the price and plenty of other eating options. Would definitely go back. Thank you!

Staff make or break an establishment and the Royal Number 44 has a great crew who go the extra mile. As we are elderly, our luggage was whisked up stairs. A jug of fresh milk -- no problem!The associated restaurant is also a bonus... we ended up having most of our meals there when we discovered how good the food was - especially the full Scottish breakfast (or home-made Scots porridge) which is included in the very reasonable tariff.The hotel is perfectly placed in the heart of town, especially useful for anyone attending the annual Folk Festival, as it is two doors own from the Town Hall, the main venue and across from the town square where many free events take placethrough the day.Stonehaven is a delightful, un-touristy Scottish seaside town but one of our fondest memories will be of the hotel we chose... The Royal!

For a noisy Saturday night in Stonehaven Squareour room (Room 5) was very quiet.The breakfast was delicious, beautifully served by a most caring and charming young lady. Couple of things the maintenance staff might like to know:The shower door lets water onto the floor which must risk damage to the fabric of the hotle, and the speaker on the TV was faulty. But other than that very good value and nice to stay in a traditional hotel..

We stayed for two nights for the Fireballs and really liked the hotel - the staff were very friendly, room was clean, and the location is excellent. The only criticism I would have is that the food in the bar (not the restaurant) was mediocre and the service was a little slow. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel, and would stay here again.

I had a bad experience in Stonehaven with my car breaking down, which left me with no option but to stay overnight. I booked into No 44, and after explaining my predicament to the Manager, he actually offered to run my son and myself into Aberdeen ,the next day to pick my car up. What a kind gesture, that i'll remember n maybe repay one day. We were comfortable in our room and enjoyed a lovely meal and breakfast the following morning. I couldn't fault the Hotel or the staff.

Conveniently situated, clean and comfortable with a wide range of food and drink available. Maybe a desk in the room for the business traveller would be good but overall a nice stay.

Good facilities, nice & clean place.

We stayed at the Number 44 Hotel and Bar on Saturday 30th July, 2016 in a small, but very clean twin room overlooking the bay. The beds were very comfortable and the linen was clean and crisp. We had a superb meal in the restaurant upstairs, which is nicely decorated in a contemporary style. The menu was quite varied, and service was excellent in all respects, the very attentive staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast served also in the restaurant was really good, full Scottish well cooked and served hot.To sum up, we thought the hotel was excellent value, well located in the town,smart, happy and helpful staff,(mainly young),providing all the traveller could wish for. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a peaceful stay at Number 44 although our rooms were very 'tired' looking I think the rooms we stayed in are the last to be refurbished! The rooms however were very clean and staff polite, friendly and helpful. Lovely food in the Restaurant too.

Very nice room, with seaview (19), clean and comfy bed. Breakfast was cooked fresh and very tasty. Had meal in restaurant - very nice, good menu.

Our stay was only for 1 night but everything was great value for money - attentive staff, comfy beds and a view of the bay. The shower was also great with no pressure/temperature issues that we experienced elsewhere! Decor not my taste but as a designer i'm a bit picky anyway! Only issue was in trying to find the place - name has changed to 'Number 44' but we didn't know.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Accommodation was good and clean and new. Easy access to town centre, beach and car park. Will definitely stay there again next time.

I stayed for only one night, but on the basis of that limited experience I would be happy to recommend this hotel to others.The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was quiet (even on a Friday night)and all quite adequate for my needs.

I would definitely recommend Number 44 for anyone visiting Stonehaven. Friendly service, comfortable well-appointed room and excellent breakfast. Excellent value for money.

Hotel was furnished to a high standard and the staff were extremely helpful. We had a 2 year old with us and nothing was too much hassle for the staff.We will be back and would recommend to everyone

Royal Hotel was a relaxing place. The breakfast was a great additive, showers and room were clean, service was good. Should you find something interesting to do in and around Stonehaven, Royal hotel is an affordable place to spend your time.

Friendly (and amusing) staff. Central location in the town and a good spot to stay if golfing on the east coast. The new decor is a little too bling for me, would prefer the more traditional (ie the breakfast room) but each to their own...

Very cosy room with a nice view on the sea at the back of the hotel. Also very clean. Breakfast was great. The staff was helpful and welcoming. Ideally located in the centre of the town.The room at the front was a bit noisy when the pub below shut

I can recommend the Royal Hotel Stonehaven. The welcome was good, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was excellent. I would certainly visit again.

Hotel room was lovely and spacious,only fault we had was with the main window which created a bit of noise and a small draught because the window seemed faulty at the top eg not hinging shut properly,but once curtains were closed it wasnt 2 noticable ,room and bathroon decor was lovely ,check in ,we found a bit stange as we had to go via the bar with2 small children to find a member of staff(the reception was unstaffed ),after getting up next day ,the breakfasts were excellent and prompt friendly service ,we were also glad 2 find the room well soundproofed as we thought there might b noise from bar -club downstairs, would come visit again .

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in the progress of being renovated and the new bedrooms are lovely. Breakfast was great and the staff were helpful. We would definitely stay again.

HI Royal hotelI was very pleased with my recent stay.I worked in the business myself (anchor guest house Dublin)for a few years.I would make one small suggestion. If possible (although possibly expensive) a room telephone system would be useful.I had to go to jubilee house to find a working public phone (in the rain).Every thing else is provided or within easy reach (apart from st Natachlan's horde).thanks again. The hotel is undergoing re-furbishment, so first impressions are a bit off-putting, but the staff are very pleasant and helpful and our room was excellent, although a little cold at night for early June.Breakfast was also very good.

The young lady that served us breakfast, even after we arrived late was extremely helpfull and very nice. The staff on the bar were also lovely.

This hotel is a great value in a great location.Not a lot of amenities but a lot of opportunities.The hotel restaurant is very good, the beach is right outside the door, great breakfast to start the day, and there are several tourist/historical attractions nearby.The only unpleasant part of the stay were our fellow guests, who unfortunately failed the class that taught them how to behave in public residences.But that is a comment on society, not on the hotel.

Couldn't get the heat to work even after the staff went to turn on the boiler, so the room was a bit cold at night.Other than that the room was nice for the price.

This was my third stay at the Royal andalthough renorvations were progress during these visits the standard of accomodation was very good as was the food.I will be back again next year

High standard hotel with good (free) WiFi Internet. However, could suggest some improvements, e.g. chair to use at desk, toilet roll holder, towel rail, shower shelf and toiletries in the bathroom. Little things - but would make a stay so much more comfortable!

Booked this hotel for 3 friends to stay overnight. The feedback i received about the Royal couldn't have been better. Room's are very clean, excellent breakfast, Michelle is an excellent hostess. The guy's were so impressed thay are talking about going back with their wife's
